#nigeria
I was inspired to write this early this morning as i sat on my toilet sit, reflecting on our great Nation Nigeria and how it has crumbled. There is a myriad of things i have to say but obviously i can't say it all but the little i will say let the wise take heed.
I am Warning Nigerian Youths to let go of our past weak foundations and perceptions, we need to know that this is a new generation. If our fathers had issues with trusting, loving and uniting because of the experiences they had which has given them their ideologies and perceptions about Nigeria unity, then let's not let their past rob us of our future
Let me share with you an experience i had with a fellow youth Emmanuel Ime. On one faithful day we met somewhere and a conversation pop up about Nigeria development and unity. Whilst we were discussing on ways we can make Nigeria better an elderly man there said to us bluntly, "you guys should stop wasting your time, Nigeria will never be better!" I was thrown off balanced in awe of what he said.

When we asked him why he said so, he said because we don't love ourselves, that a Yoruba man can never trust an Igbo man and an Igbo man can't trust an Hausa man. He went further to say that after the Nigeria Biafra war that trust is impossible within these tribes, saying that is the reason an Igbo man will never be a President of Nigeria no matter how good he is because the Hausa and Yoruba man don't trust him.
He went further to say that when he was a youth that they also agitated for unity and good leadership but today his set are currently the ones in power but are still doing the same things they were agitating for during their youth, why? Because the system is corrupt
I told Emmanuel that i don't agree, that we must make a change in our time. Why am am sharing this story, it is high time Nigerian youths start to change that perception their fathers have about Nigeria, it is time to let go of those sayings and proverbs that Nigeria will never unite, it is high time we start promoting unity and love, it is high time we look beyond political parties and religion, it is time we stop voting for a party and start voting for individual credibility, it is time we know that we are the Future of Nigeria and our future is in our hand!
How do we start doing this? What if we stop glorifying individuals of our tribes and religions and give that glory to Nigeria, what if we stop saying proudly Biafra, Yoruba, Niger Delta, Hausa, Imo, Rivers and start saying proudly Nigeria. What if we stop promoting bad news and saying bad prayers to Nigerian leaders but instead share words that will motivate and stir us up to make the country better.

I am warning Nigerian youths because it is time to change our perception of unity! If someone tells you oil and water can't mix tell the person you need oil and water to prepare a delicious soup! So long as you boil them together in a pot and that pot is Nigeria, and the fire we need to boil our delicious soup we hunger for is UNITY. "We are only weak as we divided and strong as we are united" once we get this right then we will see our economy rise beyond measures because where love abounds success is sure. We all need each other to make Nigeria great again
